Luffa Gourd plants produces 3-7 inch, light green, cylindrical fruits. Many are unaware they can be harvested small and eaten as a vegetable. Most people grow them for use as a sponge for bathing, washing dishes or other household cleaning. To create sponges, let the fruits mature on the vine, harvest and cure. When the gourd is dried, peal the skins and enjoy your luffa sponges.
Luffas grow heavy 15-20ft. long vines and will need to be trellised.
