Developed in 1919, the Dahlia-Flowered Zinnia produces stems 30-40 inches tall with fully double flowers 4 to 5 inches in diameter. Compared to the California Giant variety, the Dahlia-Flowered Zinnia has petals more tightly packed and bend downward slightly on the ends.
Not a true Dahlia, Dahlia-Flowered Zinnias produce flowerheads that mimic the multi-layered flowers of Dahlias. Easy to grow, Zinnias are a heat-loving plant that provide beautiful blooms well into late summer.
Great for your pollinator garden, butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects love them. Zinnias have a very long vase life and the upright stems make them great option for cut flowers.
Zinnias are edible but have little flavor and are often bitter. The colorful flowers make a pretty garnish for salads and desserts.
